Who the warranty comes from
Products sold on this site are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, not a store warranty. We are a factory-authorized dealer for every brand we carry, which means your purchase is registered through an approved channel and the manufacturer will honor the full term.
This matters more than it sounds. Products bought from unauthorized sellers — grey-market listings on marketplaces, for instance — are frequently denied warranty coverage outright, because the manufacturer has no record of an authorized sale.
We handle the claim process on your behalf. You do not have to figure out which department at which brand to call.
Typical coverage by category
Terms vary by brand and product line. The table below shows what is common; the exact warranty for your item ships in the box and is listed on the manufacturer's site.
| Product category | Typical warranty term |
|---|---|
| Soft roll-up & folding tonneau covers | 3 years to lifetime, brand dependent |
| Hard folding & retractable covers | 3–5 years, some lifetime on the frame |
| Electric retractable covers | 3 years, motor and electronics often 1–2 years |
| Steel bumpers & grille guards | Lifetime structural, 1–3 years on finish |
| Nerf bars & running boards | Limited lifetime on stainless, 3–5 years on powder coat |
| Electric running boards | 3 years, motors typically 2 years |
| Bed liners & mats | Limited lifetime against cracking |
| Bed racks, drawers & slides | 3 years to limited lifetime |
| Tool boxes | Limited lifetime on the box, 1–3 years on locks and gas struts |
| Winches | Limited lifetime mechanical, 1 year electrical |
Almost every warranty in this industry covers the original purchaser only and is not transferable if you sell the truck or the part. Keep your receipt.
What is usually covered
- Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
- Premature structural failure under normal use — a frame that cracks, a weld that separates.
- Finish defects such as peeling powder coat or blistering that is not caused by impact or abrasion.
- Mechanical or electrical component failure within the stated term (motors, latches, gas struts, canister assemblies).
- Seal and weatherstrip failure resulting in leaks, where the product is rated as weather-resistant.
What is not covered
- Improper installation. This is the single most common denial. Follow the torque specs.
- Normal wear: fading from UV exposure, minor scratches, surface rust on hardware in salt-belt use.
- Accident, collision, vandalism, theft or acts of nature.
- Damage from exceeding published load ratings — standing on a tonneau cover, overloading a bed rack.
- Off-road or commercial use where the product is rated for on-road consumer use only.
- Modification: drilling, cutting, welding, repainting, or substituting non-OEM hardware.
- Damage from automatic car washes, pressure washing at close range, or harsh solvents.
- Cosmetic issues reported after the finish-warranty period.
- Labor costs for removal and reinstallation, and any incidental costs such as rental vehicles or lost work time.
How to file a claim
- Gather your information: order number, the part number, and the vehicle it is installed on.
- Photograph the problem clearly — a wide shot showing the part on the vehicle, and close-ups of the defect. Manufacturers decide most claims on photos alone.
- Contact us at [email protected] or (845) 579-3631 with the above. Put "Warranty Claim" in the subject line.
- We open the claim with the manufacturer and act as your advocate through the process.
Do not remove or discard the defective part before the claim is approved. Manufacturers sometimes require it returned for inspection, and disposing of it can end the claim.
What to expect
- 1–2 business days: we review your submission and file with the manufacturer.
- 3–10 business days: the manufacturer reviews. Some approve from photos; others request the part back for inspection.
- On approval: a replacement part or component ships directly to you, usually at no cost. Some brands ship only the failed component rather than the whole assembly.
- If denied: we will tell you exactly why and, where we think the decision is wrong, we escalate it. We have gotten denials reversed before.
Within the first 30 days after delivery, a defective product is usually faster to handle as a return than a warranty claim. Call us and we will point you at whichever route gets you sorted quickest.
Why buying from an authorized dealer matters
An authorized dealer purchase means the manufacturer has a record of the sale, the product came through their supply chain, and the serial number is legitimate. It also means when something goes wrong, someone who deals with that brand every week is making the call on your behalf instead of you sitting in a queue.
Every brand listed on our brands page is one we are authorized to sell.
