Truck Bed Central ("we", "us", "our") operates https://truckbedcentral.com. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit the site, place an order, or contact us. We have written it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, because a privacy policy you cannot read is not much of a policy.

Information you give us

Order information: name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and the contents of your order.
Payment information: card details are entered directly into our payment processor's secure fields. We never see or store your full card number. We receive only the last four digits, the card brand, and an authorization result.
Vehicle information: the year, make, model and bed size you enter in the fitment selector. This is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device so we can show relevant parts. It is not transmitted to us unless you place an order or send it to us in a message.
Communications: emails, chat messages, phone call notes and anything you tell our support team.
Marketing preferences: your email address if you subscribe to our list, and whether you have opted out.

Information collected automatically

Device and usage data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps.

How we use your information

To process, fulfill and deliver your order, and to handle returns and warranty claims.
To verify fitment before shipping and to contact you if something looks wrong with an order.
To provide customer support and respond to your questions.
To send transactional messages: order confirmations, shipping notifications, and delivery updates.
To send marketing email, only if you opted in. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and chargebacks.
To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
To comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting requirements.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

We share personal information only with service providers who need it to do a job for us, and only the minimum required:

Payment processors — to authorize and settle your payment.
Shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, LTL freight lines) — name, address and phone number so they can deliver and schedule.
Manufacturers and distributors — for drop-shipped items, warranty claims and rebate processing, they receive your shipping details.
Email and analytics providers — to send transactional and opted-in marketing mail and to measure site usage.
Professional advisors and authorities — where required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

If our business is sold or merged, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction. You would be notified before your information became subject to a materially different privacy policy.

Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage keys. Strictly necessary items — your cart contents, your saved vehicle, and whether you dismissed the announcement bar — are stored in your browser's local storage and are required for the site to function.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out of sale or sharing where applicable law recognizes them.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate information.
Delete your information, subject to records we must keep for tax and legal reasons.
Port your data to another service in a machine-readable format.
Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
Opt out of sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right stands.
Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. Prices and service stay the same.

To exercise a right, email [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Request." We respond within 45 days and may ask you to verify your identity — usually by confirming details of a recent order — before we release or delete data.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and other state-law residents, and individuals in the EEA or UK (GDPR) may have additional rights. Where GDPR applies, our lawful bases for processing are contract performance (fulfilling your order), legitimate interests (fraud prevention, improving the site), consent (marketing), and legal obligation (tax records).

Data security

The entire site is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption. Payment card data is handled by a PCI-DSS compliant processor and never touches our servers. Access to customer records is limited to staff who need it for their job and is protected by unique accounts and multi-factor authentication.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

How long we keep data

Order and transaction records: 7 years, to meet tax and accounting obligations.
Support correspondence: 3 years.
Marketing list membership: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not email you again.
Analytics data: typically 14–26 months depending on the provider.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults purchasing vehicle accessories. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on the site, and where required, by email.
