Our commitment
Truck Bed Central is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who navigate with a keyboard, use a screen reader or other assistive technology, browse at high zoom, or need reduced motion.
Accessibility is not a compliance checkbox we tick once. It is part of how the site is built and reviewed as it changes.
What we have done
- Keyboard navigation. Every interactive control — navigation, mega menus, filters, the cart drawer, the gallery — is reachable and operable with a keyboard alone.
- Visible focus. A high-contrast focus ring appears on every focusable element and is never suppressed.
- Skip link. A "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable item on every page.
- Semantic structure. Real headings in order, landmark regions, lists marked up as lists, and buttons that are buttons rather than styled divs.
- Labels and names. Every form field has a visible or programmatic label. Icon-only buttons carry accessible names.
- Colour contrast. Body text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios. Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
- Images. Product images carry descriptive alternative text; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Modals and drawers. The cart drawer and mobile menu trap focus while open, close on Escape, and return focus to the control that opened them.
- Reduced motion. Animation and smooth scrolling are disabled automatically when your system requests reduced motion.
- Zoom and reflow. The layout reflows to 320px width and remains usable at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- Live regions. Cart updates and filter result counts are announced to screen readers.
Conformance status
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We assess the site through a combination of automated testing, manual keyboard testing and screen reader testing.
We describe the site as partially conformant: most of it meets the standard, and where we know it falls short, we have listed it below rather than claim otherwise.
Known limitations
- Third-party product descriptions. Manufacturer-supplied description content sometimes contains tables or images without alternative text. We correct these as we find them; please report any that block you.
- Embedded manufacturer PDFs. Installation documents hosted by manufacturers are outside our control and are not always tagged for accessibility. Call us and we will read you the relevant specification or send an accessible summary.
- Third-party checkout. Payment pages are provided by our payment processor. We monitor their accessibility and will assist you by phone if you encounter a barrier there.
