Steel, sensors and the delivery truck

A steel replacement bumper is the heaviest thing most people bolt to a truck, and weight is the spec that decides everything downstream. A front bumper that adds 150 lb over the factory unit will sit the nose down unless the front springs are rated for it, and it changes how a plow or a winch loads the frame horns.

Check what your factory bumper is carrying before you pull it. Parking sensors, a forward camera, fog lights and adaptive cruise all live in there on late-model trucks, and a bumper that has no provision for relocating them turns a bolt-on job into a wiring job. If you are mounting a winch, confirm the bumper is rated for the specific winch footprint rather than winch-ready in general.
